Hello!
We just wanted to give you guys a quick update. We talked with our oncologist about trying to shorten the protocol for Zeke’s chemotherapy post surgery. If you guys remember from the last update we were told he would need to receive an additional 22 or 24 week protocol. This protocol was followed because of the classification of the tumor and pathology but Zeke’s case was a little more complex because of the horseshoe kidney.
Our oncologist (who is amazing) said she would look into extra literature regarding treatment and reach out to some of her colleagues around the United States and get their opinion on his case. She was very open to shortening his chemotherapy because his prognosis was so good but she had to do her due diligence in making sure there wasn’t data proving that if we didn’t follow the full regimen, his cancer would return. After about a week she met with us during his most recent chemotherapy (01/15/2026) and said we could cut out the first 6 weeks and start at week 7!
So instead of starting at week ONE of 24. We are starting on week SEVEN!
As of today Zeke has already gotten 2 weeks of chemo post surgery which puts us at week 9 of 24 this week.
This means that he will get 2 more weeks of treatment, a two week break, and then will finish his last 3 doses which will be done every 3 weeks.
This is great news because this means that Lord willing everything goes well his treatment will be done in mid April vs end of June!
We are beyond overjoyed to be at this point. This season has truly tested us as parents, spouses and believers but the Lord has held fast and delivered us through this dark valley. Although we still have a ways to go we choose to move forward in faith and gratitude that our little boy has made it so far.
From the bottom of our hearts- we thank each and every person that has prayed, donated, or supported our family in any way. Once treatment is over and Zeke is officially in remission we will have a huge open invitation outing to celebrate this miracle of life and his first birthday! Friends, the Lords’ mercies are new every morning. Strive to find them and in moments of deep weakness and pain preach the gospel to yourselves. We are not men or women condemned, when we weep the Lord weeps with us. Philippians 4:6-7 states “ Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Let us strive to remember his truth ❤️
All of our love,
The Yavorski’s
