Tumor Pathology

1/4/25

Hello everyone! We are still here and we are all doing well. Between getting Zeke’s pathology results back and planning further treatment, it’s been a busy few weeks for us. Thank you for your continued prayer and patience!

Zeke’s results from the sampling of his tumor came back with great news! His diagnosis is something called favorable histology which means that his type of cancer cells are highly treatable and usually have a a very good prognosis. The lymph nodes that were removed during surgery to see if there was any spread also came back completely clear and all of his margins are clear! 🙏🏻 Now, despite this, Zeke’s diagnosis is still considered an intermediate risk for several reasons. The size of his tumor, the range of different cells that they found in his tumor, and that the tumor had a poor response to chemo. Because of this, he has an increased risk of the cancer coming back. With his results his oncology team is starting him on the proper protocol which will be a 24 week treatment of chemotherapy. He will receive 12 weeks of chemotherapy weekly and then his last 3 months he will receive chemotherapy every 3 weeks. He will receive a similar plan to what he was on before with just one less drug ( the worst one!!). As happy as we are with his surgery results and the results of his pathology this is still a difficult pill for us to swallow. He has a long road ahead but one of the hardest parts is behind us.

Zeke has been so strong and resilient through all of these trials and we are so proud to be his parents. We hold fast that the Lord is good and one day this will all be a distant memory. Friends, we have been so blessed with the outpouring of love, prayer, and blessings our family has received. We have felt so much love and support from those around us and we really have no words to show how meaningful it has been to us. We will continue to update the blog weekly (as best as we can haha) and will update any changes going forward! Please continue to pray for our little man to be strong and for his body to do well with the treatment.

Love,

The Yavorski’s ❤️
