Happy Thanksgiving Friends! We hope that your day was full of family, memories, and delightful food!
This week was a hard one for all of us. Zeke was definitely a little more fussy and just not himself- he still managed to smile at us every day but his little body is definitely weaker. This week is “Week 5” and we are so close to finishing the second cycle! By this point you guys know how chemo days run- accessing the port, checking bloodwork, and receiving the chemo dose. The day was pretty uneventful but because of where the tumor is sitting there is a lot of strain on Zeke’s kidneys, which in turn increases his blood pressure. The goal for this week is to get his blood pressure under control and within normal range.
This upcoming week is also a HUGE week in Zeke’s journey. On Tuesday he will undergo another CT scan and an MRI of his kidney to determine whether the tumor has responded to chemo and if we are able to do surgery the following week. Depending on the results his team will determine if he needs additional chemo, surgery, or a completely different regimen. Very scary 😞 But this is the precise moment where we must hold fast to the promises our savior has given us. We ask for your prayers this week in a few specific ways- for us to trust the Lord and his sovereignty in Zeke’s results, for us to remember his promises and his want for our good, and lastly for Zeke’s little body to continue to have the strength to endure his next steps.
We love you all and appreciate your prayers and concern for our family.
Ps. Zeke turned 9 months old on the 27th!
Til next time!
