The day began with the hospital child life specialist dropping off some Halloween costumes for Zeke to choose from. We got the choice between a hotdog and giraffe. 😅 See picture below for what we chose!
Later on, we got the green light from our oncology team to go home- we just had to wait for confirmation from nephrology as well. Because of the placement of the tumor, there’s a lot of strain on Zeke’s kidneys which resulted in him having high blood pressure. Therefore, he needs to go home on medication.
After a few hours of going back and forth with the insurance company the team finally settled on a medication and we got the green light at 5pm! We accumulated A LOT of stuff over the week so it took a while to pack everything up, but luckily we were able to load it all onto a wheelchair and make it down to the car in one trip.
We arrived home around 6:30pm and to our surprise Yaro’s mom cleaned the entire house. This was a nice way of “starting fresh” when we got home. All the bags were carried in while Zeke was put down for the night.
Mom and dad ended the night with a celebratory pizza date. Now we wait until Thursday, November 6th for Zeke’s next chemotherapy. See you soon! 💕
